Samsung Pay has now been released in the UK

Samsung Pay has now been released in the UK, which means customers are now able to use this feature with all contactless enabled terminal. Samsung have come late to the market, launching nearly two years after Apple Pay and a year after their main rivals, Android Pay.

The free app is now available to be downloaded by Samsung smart device owners. Payments can be made through mobile phones, tablets or smart watches.

The release of Samsung Pay in the UK means that users can pay on more card machines than ever before.

The app currently supports cards issued by Santander, Nationwide and MBNA, with HSBC and Amex being rolled out to customers in the future. With Samsung Pay, each transaction is covered by your bank's fraud protection and authenticated by a PIN , fingerprint or iris scan. Plus, tokenisation adds an extra layer of security.

In a bid to differentiate themselves from main competitor Android Pay, Samsung have linked up with Transport for London to allow public transport users to tap in an out of stations and busses even if their device is turned off. Android Pay and Apple Pay users must currently wake their phones up, and this is something that Samsung has said slows commuters down.

We provide payment terminal finance solutions for contactless card machines that are compatible with Apple, Android and Samsung Pay as standard. Getting in touch with us is easy, simply call on 01942 407 980 or submit a call back request.
